Waymarks: Whirlow residential retreat at Wydale Hall,
“waymark” - a sign or mark placed to guide walkers along a route. Cairns, mile-stones, fingerposts, blazes, arrows, scallop-shells...send waymarks from the paths, trails & tracks you know @RobGMacfarlane Nov 1 2019
During our time together we will explore the questions “Where am I? How am I? Who am I?”. There will be times of silence, shared worship and invitations to engage with creative activities and the beautiful landscape around Wydale Hall. There will be an opportunity to have a one-to-one conversation with one of the retreat leaders and times to reflect with fellow retreatants. This is a retreat for those comfortable with collective and individual silence and wishing to undertake inner exploration.
All rooms are en-suite and the retreat will be fully catered. There will be other groups and individuals using Wydale Hall whilst we are on retreat, so breakfast and evening meals will not be in silence. Lunches will be packed lunches, except on the final day, to allow for longer periods of silence during the day.
The total cost of the retreat is £475. A £75 deposit is required to secure a place, and final payment will be by 18th March. We recommend you consider taking out travel insurance as refunds are not possible in the event of you cancelling.
Please note that travel is not included, and you will need to make your own arrangements for this. Should the cost of the retreat prove to be prohibitive for you, you are welcome to apply for a Whirlow Grant. Grant applications need to be in by the 4th February.
