Moving from the darkness of seeking a vocation as a pastor to a mining community under the dark skies of Belgium to rejection from the Paris Art School to Vincent’s life and breakdown in Provence and his year’s incarceration in an asylum in San Remy, his life is an incredible dance between darkness and light. Participants will, through poetry, film, meditation, silence and sharing, explore both his visionary life and our own abilities to see things around us with his verve and wonder. As he gave us access to his inner world through his amazing letters to his brother, Theo, we can see things from the perspective of his soul. We can find a balance between our light and our darkness. This will be a day to, hopefully, find the peace he so struggled to ascertain – yet offered it to so many through his art.
Saturday 29th November 9.30am-3.30pm. £25.
Bring your own lunch, hot drinks provided.
